What is Tee Female 25×1/2″ Brass DADEX PPRc ?
The Tee Female 25×1/2″ Brass DADEX PPRc PN 25 is a high-pressure, specialty fitting designed for the Dadex Polydex piping system. It serves as a transition point between the welded PPRc network and threaded metal fixtures like taps, valves, or gauges.
Product Description & Specifications
The “PN 25” rating indicates this fitting is built for high-pressure durability, making it superior to standard PN 20 residential fittings.
-
Brand: Dadex (Polydex series)
-
Material: High-quality Polypropylene Random (PPR-C) with a nickel-plated lead-free brass insert.
-
Size: 25mm (welding socket) x 1/2″ (internal female thread).
-
Pressure Rating: PN 25 (capable of handling up to 25 bars of pressure).
-
Temperature Range: -4°C to 95°C, suitable for boiling water systems.
-
Standards: Conforms to DIN 16962 (fittings) and DIN 8077-8078 (pipes).
-
Color: Distinctive green (typical of Dadex Polydex).
Key Applications
-
HVAC Systems: Used for chilled water networks in central air conditioning and heating systems (including underfloor heating) where corrosion resistance and thermal insulation are vital.
-
Hot & Cold Water Supply: Ideal for high-rise buildings, hotels, and hospitals due to its 50-year service life and antimicrobial properties that prevent bacterial growth.
-
Industrial Use: Suitable for transporting compressed air and various aggressive fluids (acids/alkalis) due to its chemical inertness.
Installation & Usage Guidelines
The PPRc portion is joined via heat fusion, while the brass portion connects to threaded hardware.
1. The Fusion Process
-
Preparation: Cut the 25mm pipe squarely and mark the welding depth.
-
Heating: Use a PPRc welding machine set to approximately 260°C. Simultaneously heat the pipe and the 25mm socket of the tee for about 7 seconds.
-
Joining: Push the parts together without twisting. Hold firmly for a few seconds to allow the plastic to bond.
2. Threaded Connection
-
Sealing: Use Teflon tape (PTFE) or specialized sealing putty on the first few threads of the brass insert.
-
Important: Avoid using classical hemp/jute, as it can absorb water and expand, potentially cracking the brass insert over time.
3. Maintenance & Safety
-
Pressure Testing: After installation, let the joints cool for at least 30 minutes before conducting a pressure test (typically at 10–15 bar).
-
UV Protection: If installed outdoors, the PPRc body should be insulated or painted to protect it from direct sunlight degradation.
