What is Aquadex Dadex upvc Pressure pipe 1/2″ ?

 

There is an important clarification to make first: Aquadex Dadex 1/2″ UPVC pressure pipe is NOT suitable for hot water supply. UPVC (un plasticized PVC) is designed only for cold water (typically up to 45°C/113°F). For hot water in HVAC and plumbing systems, Dadex offers Polydex PPR pipes instead, which handle hot and cold water up to 70°C continuously.

Aquadex is Dadex’s brand name for their u-PVC (un plasticized PVC) pressure pipe system used primarily for cold potable water supply and related applications.

Applications

Installation Guidelines

1. Cutting: Use a fine-tooth saw or pipe cutter; ensure cut is square

2. Cleaning: Clean pipe ends and fittings with clean cloth; remove dirt/debris

3. Priming: Apply PVC primer to both pipe exterior and fitting interior

4. Cementing: Apply PVC cement evenly, insert pipe into fitting with slight twist, hold for 15-30 seconds

5. Curing: Allow joint to cure for at least 15 minutes before pressure testing

6. Support: Use proper pipe hangers/clips at regular intervals (every 1-1.5m for 1/2″ pipe)

7. Temperature consideration: Do not expose to temperatures above 45°C

Usage in HVAC Systems

• Chilled water distribution: Commonly used for cold water loops in HVAC systems

• Cold water supply: Building water distribution networks

• Not for hot water loops: Use Dadex Polydex PPR (PN 20, DIN 8077-8078) for hot water

Important Note

For your application involving both hot AND cold water supply, you should use:

• UPVC (Aquadex) for cold water only

• PPR (Polydex by Dadex) for hot and cold water (up to 70°C, PN 20 rating)
