What is Tee 40mm DADEX PPRc ?

 

The Tee 40mm DADEX PPRc PN 25 is a high-performance pipe fitting designed by Dadex (a leading manufacturer in Pakistan) for demanding fluid transport applications. While many standard PPRc pipes use a PN 20 rating, Dadex fittings are typically engineered to a PN 25 standard to provide an extra margin of safety and durability at the joint, which is often the most stressed part of a piping system.

1. Description and Usage

A “Tee” is a T-shaped fitting with three openings used to create a 90-degree branch from a main pipe line.

• HVAC Systems: Used for chilled water lines in air conditioning systems and radiant heating systems.¹ The PN 25 rating is crucial here to handle the pressure surges from pumps.

• Hot & Cold Water Supply: Ideal for high-rise buildings, residential plumbing, and industrial facilities where water pressure and temperature fluctuate.

• Industrial Applications: Suitable for transporting compressed air and certain non-corrosive chemicals due to its high chemical resistance.

4. Installation Guidelines

The Tee is installed using the Heat Fusion method, which creates a “homogenous” joint (the pipe and fitting melt together to become a single piece).

Steps for 40mm Installation:

1. Cutting: Cut the 40mm pipe squarely using a specialized PPR pipe cutter.

2. Cleaning: Ensure both the pipe end and the inside of the Tee are free of dust, grease, and moisture.

3. Marking: Mark the welding depth (approx. 18mm to 20mm for a 40mm pipe) on the pipe end.

4. Heating: * Set the welding machine to 260°C.

   • Push the pipe and the Tee onto the heating mandrels simultaneously.

   • Heating Time for 40mm: Approximately 12 seconds.

5. Joining: Remove them from the machine and immediately push the pipe into the Tee until the mark is reached. Do not rotate the pipe during insertion.

6. Cooling: Hold the joint steady for about 6 seconds (working time) and allow it to cool completely for at least 4 minutes before applying pressure.
