What is Reducing Tee 32x25mm DADEX PPRc ?
The Reducing Tee 32x25mm DADEX PPRc PN25 is a high-performance plumbing and HVAC component designed to create a branch in a piping system while simultaneously reducing the pipe diameter. Manufactured by Dadex Eternit Limited, this fitting is part of the Polydex range, widely recognized in Pakistan and internationally for its durability and reliability in pressurized water systems.
1. Description & Detailed Information
A reducing tee is a T-shaped fitting with three openings.1 In a 32x25mm configuration:
-
The two horizontal openings (the “run”) are typically 32mm.
-
The perpendicular opening (the “branch”) is 25mm.
It is made from Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPRc), a plastic known for its high resistance to heat, pressure, and chemical corrosion.2 The PN25 rating indicates it is designed to withstand a nominal pressure of 25 bar at 20°C, making it suitable for high-pressure applications.
2. Technical Specifications

3. Usage & Applications
-
Water Supply: Used in residential and commercial plumbing for potable (drinking) water.5 Because it is food-grade, it does not affect the taste or quality of the water.
-
HVAC Systems: Ideal for chilled water networks in air conditioning and hot water heating systems (radiators/underfloor heating) due to its thermal stability.
-
Industrial Use: Transport of compressed air and certain chemicals where corrosion resistance is required.
4. Installation Guidelines
Dadex PPRc fittings are joined using Heat Fusion (Socket Fusion). This process creates a permanent, leak-proof bond that is stronger than the pipe itself.
Steps for Installation:
-
Preparation: Cut the 32mm and 25mm pipes squarely using a PPRc pipe cutter.10 Clean the ends of any burrs or dirt.
-
Marking: Mark the insertion depth on the pipe ends (approx. 18mm for 32mm pipe and 16mm for 25mm pipe).
-
Heating: Use a PPRc welding machine set to approximately 260°C.11 Simultaneously push the pipe and the tee onto the heating sockets.
-
Heating Time: Roughly 8 seconds for the 32mm side and 7 seconds for the 25mm side
-
-
Joining: Remove them from the heater and immediately push the pipe into the fitting up to the mark without twisting.
-
Cooling: Hold the joint steady for about 4-6 seconds and allow it to cool completely (approx. 4 minutes) before applying any pressure.
5. Key Advantages
-
Corrosion Resistance: Unlike GI (Galvanized Iron) pipes, PPRc will not rust or scale, maintaining a smooth internal flow.
-
Low Heat Conductivity: Reduces heat loss in hot water pipes and prevents condensation in chilled water (HVAC) lines.
-
Noise Reduction: The material dampens the sound of water flow and “water hammer” effects.
-
Long Lifespan: Designed to last over 50 years under normal operating conditions.
