What is Reducer Socket 32x25mm EG PPRc ?
EG is a popular Pakistani brand of PPRC (Polypropylene Random Copolymer) piping systems, manufactured locally (often in Karachi) with a focus on quality, affordability, and compliance with international standards. EG PPRC is widely used across Pakistan for reliable hot and cold water distribution.
Description:
- A straight reducing fitting with socket (female) ends on both sides.
- Larger end accepts a 32mm outer diameter (OD) PPR pipe; smaller end accepts a 25mm OD pipe.
- Enables smooth diameter reduction from 32mm to 25mm in a straight line, minimizing turbulence and pressure drop.
- Color: Typically green (standard for many PPRC systems).
- Material: High-grade PPRC Type-3, food-safe, non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, with low thermal conductivity and smooth inner surface for reduced friction.
- Advantages: Quick installation, cost-effective, lightweight, hygienic, and long-lasting (50+ years under proper conditions).
Specifications:
- Sizes: 32mm x 25mm (larger socket 32mm OD, smaller 25mm OD).
- Pressure Rating: PN25 (25 bar / 362.5 psi at 20°C; suitable for high-pressure and hot water applications).
- Standards: Conforms to DIN 8077/8078 (pipes) and DIN 16962 (fittings), with local manufacturing ensuring compliance for Pakistani market needs.
- Temperature Resistance: Continuous operation up to 95°C (short-term peaks higher).
- Compatible with EG PPRC PN20/PN25 pipes and other standard PPR fittings.
Usage:
- Perfect for hot and cold potable water supply in residential buildings, apartments, hospitals, hotels, schools, and commercial projects.
- Other applications: Compressed air systems, industrial fluid transport (chemical-resistant), food/beverage processing, and aggressive fluid piping.
- Ideal for stepping down from larger main lines (32mm) to sub-lines or fixtures (25mm) for optimized flow.
Installation:
- Uses socket fusion welding for a permanent, leak-proof, homogeneous joint (as strong as the pipe).
- Steps:
- Cut pipes squarely with a PPR pipe cutter.
- Clean and chamfer/deburr ends; wipe with alcohol.
- Mark insertion depth (approx. 20-25mm for 32mm end, 18-20mm for 25mm – check welder manual).
- Preheat PPR welding machine to ~260°C.
- Remove promptly and insert pipes straight into sockets (avoid twisting).
- Tools required: PPR fusion welder, cutter, chamfer tool.
- Joints are maintenance-free, hygienic, and fully sealed.
