What is Reducer Socket 25x20mm DADEX PPRc ?

 

Dadex’s Polydex series is their flagship antimicrobial PPRC (Polypropylene Random Copolymer) piping system, widely used in Pakistan.

Description:

• A straight reducing fitting with socket ends on both sides.
• Larger end accepts a 25mm outer diameter (OD) PPR pipe; smaller end accepts a 20mm OD pipe.
• Provides a smooth transition from a 25mm pipe to a 20mm pipe in a straight run, reducing flow diameter efficiently with minimal pressure loss.
• Color: Typically green (antimicrobial Polydex line).
• Material: Premium PPRC Type-3, non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, with a smooth bore for low friction and antibacterial properties (inhibits bacteria, fungi, and algae growth).

• Sizes: 25mm x 20mm (larger socket 25mm OD, smaller 20mm OD).
• Pressure Rating: PN25 (25 bar / 362.5 psi at 20°C; higher than standard PN20 for demanding applications).

Usage:

• Commonly used to step down from main distribution lines (25mm) to branch lines or fixtures (20mm).

Installation:

• Steps:
  1. Cut pipes squarely with a dedicated PPR pipe cutter.
  2. Deburr/chamfer edges and clean surfaces with alcohol.
  3. Mark welding depth (typically ~18-20mm for 25mm end, ~14-16mm for 20mm end – refer to welder manual).
  4. Preheat PPR welding machine to ~260°C.
  5. Remove quickly and insert pipes straight into sockets (do not twist).
• Required tools: PPR fusion welder kit, cutter, and depth gauge.
• Joints are hygienic, maintenance-free, and fully resistant to leaks.
