Euro Gulf uPVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) pipes are a highly trusted choice in Pakistan’s plumbing and sanitary market. Description & Material Properties

The 4″ SDR41 pipe is a thin-walled, high-capacity uPVC pipe. SDR41 stands for Standard Dimensional Ratio 41, meaning the outside diameter of the pipe is exactly 41 times the thickness of its wall. Because the walls are thinner compared to Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 pipes, it provides a larger internal bore (inside diameter), maximizing fluid flow efficiency while keeping material weight and costs minimal.

Installation Guidelines

Proper installation preserves the structural integrity of thin-walled SDR41 pipes, especially when buried.

1.Cutting and Chamfering:Preparation.

Cut the pipe square using a fine-toothed saw. Remove all internal and external burrs with a deburring tool. File a 10 to 15-degree chamfer (bevel) on the outer edge of the pipe end to prevent it from scraping the solvent cement off the socket during insertion.

2.Cleaning and Dry Fit:Alignment check.

Wipe the outside of the pipe end and the inside of the matching fitting socket with a clean, dry cloth to remove dirt, moisture, and grease. Test the dry fit; the pipe should easily enter the socket about one-third to two-thirds of the way.

3.Applying Solvent Cement:Jointing.

Apply a thin, even layer of high-quality uPVC solvent cement to the inside of the fitting socket, and a slightly thicker, uniform layer to the outer chamfered end of the pipe. Work quickly before the cement begins to dry.

4.Insertion and Set:Bonding.

Immediately insert the pipe into the fitting socket until it bottoms out. Give it a quarter-turn during insertion to distribute the solvent cement evenly. Hold the joint firmly together for 10 to 15 seconds to prevent the pipe from backing out. Wipe away any excess cement bead from around the edge.

5.Trenching and Backfilling:For underground layout.

When burying SDR41, ensure the trench bed is continuous, smooth, and free of rocks or sharp stones. Cradle the pipe in a 4-inch layer of compacted sand or fine soil aggregate to provide uniform support and protect the thin walls from ground crushing loads.
