What is Elbow Female 32×1″ Brass EG PPRc ?
The Elbow Female 32×1″ Brass EG PPRc PN 25 is a specialized high-pressure transition fitting. “EG” stands for Emir Global (Emirplast), a renowned manufacturer often associated with high-end Turkish piping technology. This fitting is used to connect a 32mm PPRc pipe to a 1-inch male threaded metal pipe or fixture (such as a pump, valve, or water meter).
1. Description and Design
This elbow features a composite design:
-
Body: Made from Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPRc) Type 3.
-
Insert: A heavy-duty Brass female threaded insert is molded into the plastic body.
-
Sealing: The brass insert usually features “retaining teeth” or grooves on its outer surface to ensure a leak-proof bond with the plastic and to prevent the metal from spinning or pulling out under high torque during installation.1
2. Technical Specifications
| Feature | Details |
| PPR Pipe Side | 32mm (Socket Fusion) |
| Thread Side | 1-inch Female Brass Thread (BSPP/G-Thread) |
| Pressure Rating | PN 25 (25 Bar / 362 PSI) |
| Material | High-grade PPR-C (Type 3) + Brass CW617N |
| Standard | DIN 16962 / TS EN ISO 15874 |
| Operating Temp | -20°C up to +95°C |
| Color | Typically Green or Grey |
3. Applications and Usage
-
HVAC Systems: Used for connecting fan coil units (FCUs), pumps, and boilers where high-pressure chilled or hot water is circulated.
-
Sanitary Water Supply: Serves as the final connection point for large-flow fixtures or when transitioning from a main PPRc line to a metal manifold.
-
Chemical/Industrial: Because the brass is high-quality (CW617N), it is resistant to dezincification, making it safe for drinking water and certain industrial fluids.
4. Installation Guidelines
Because this fitting involves two different materials (Plastic and Metal), follow these specific steps:
- PPR Side (Heat Welding): 1. Set your welding machine to 260°C.2. Heat the 32mm pipe and the plastic end of the elbow for approximately 8 seconds.
3. Push them together without twisting. Hold for 6 seconds and cool for 4 minutes.
-
Threaded Side (Metal Connection):
-
Apply Teflon tape or thread sealant to the 1″ male metal thread.
-
Screw the metal pipe into the brass insert of the elbow.
-
Caution: Use a wrench on the brass portion (if an octagonal shape is provided) rather than the plastic body to avoid cracking the PPRc housing.
-
Important Maintenance Tip
Avoid Over-tightening: While the PN 25 rating is very strong, the brass-to-plastic bond can be stressed if a metal pipe is over-tightened into the female thread. Stop tightening once the joint is snug and leak-free.
