What is AGM Valve Socket 3/4″ ?
A valve socket is a short spigot-by-socket adaptor used to solvent-weld a valve (plain-end) into a CPVC/UPVC pressure pipeline. One side is spigot (fits into the valve’s socket), the other side is a socket (accepts the pipe). It creates a neat, strong joint and the correct insertion depth at the valve connection point—common on ball, butterfly (socket type), and check valves.
Your 3/4″ size is for IPS piping (outer diameter ~26.67 mm).
Typical specifications (high-pressure pattern)
-
Brand/Origin: AGM, imported from KSA
-
Nominal size: 3/4″ (IPS)
-
End connections: Spigot × Socket, plain ends for solvent welding
-
Material (most common for “high pressure”):
-
CPVC (industrial/ hot-service) – cell class per ASTM D1784 23447 (or equivalent); beige/tan color; higher temperature capability
-
(Some lines are uPVC/SCH80 for cold service; confirm which one your AGM line is)
-
-
Manufacturing standards (typical):
-
CPVC fittings: ASTM F439 (Sch 80); solvent cement to ASTM F493
-
uPVC fittings: ASTM D2467 (Sch 80); solvent cement to ASTM D2564
-
-
Pressure rating (guide values, actual rating printed on part rules):
-
CPVC Sch 80: up to ~400 psi @ 23 °C (73 °F); ~150 psi @ 82–90 °C (180–194 °F)
-
uPVC Sch 80: up to ~235–300 psi @ 23 °C (73 °F); derate above 23 °C (not for hot water)
-
-
Temperature range:
-
CPVC: ~0–93 °C (32–200 °F)
-
uPVC: ~0–60 °C (32–140 °F)
-
-
Fitment: For IPS 3/4″ pipe OD 26.67 mm; typical socket depth ~18–22 mm (varies by maker)
-
Color: Beige/tan (CPVC) or dark gray (uPVC Sch 80)
-
Compliance (if marked): May be available with NSF/ANSI 61 & 372 for potable water (verify markings on the part or datasheet)
Key features
-
High-pressure body (Sch 80 wall pattern) for industrial duty
-
Clean valve integration: spigot end drops into the valve’s socket; socket end receives the pipe—keeps alignment true
-
Corrosion/chemical resistance: excellent vs. many acids, alkalies, and salts (check compatibility for your media)
-
Low weight, no rust, easy to install with solvent welding
Typical uses
-
Process & industrial piping: chemical transfer (non-solvent media), plating lines, water treatment (RO/DI), dosing lines
-
HVAC/Building services: chilled & hot water (CPVC), condenser/utility water
-
Water supply & distribution: manifolds, branch valves, isolation valves
-
Irrigation & agriculture: durable valve connections in manifolds
