What is AGM upvc Red Tee 8×6″ ?
AGM UPVC Red Tee 8×6″ Sch 40 is a reducing tee fitting manufactured by Arabian Gulf Manufacturers (AGM) in Saudi Arabia, designed for branching pipelines in sewerage, drainage, waste, ventilation, and water supply systems using un plasticized polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) material per ASTM Schedule 40 standards.
Description
This tee features two 8-inch openings and one 6-inch branch outlet, often in red coloring for sewerage identification to distinguish from gray or white pressure-rated fittings. AGM produces it using high-quality SABIC UPVC raw materials for corrosion resistance, lightweight handling, and durability in non-potable applications. It supports solvent weld joints for watertight connections in buried or exposed setups.
Specifications
-
Material: UPVC (Cell Class 12454 per ASTM D1784), non-conductive and chemical-resistant.
-
Dimensions: Nominal sizes 8″ x 8″ x 6″ (OD ~8.625″ for 8″, ~6.625″ for 6″), Sch 40 wall thickness (~0.322″ for 8″, ~0.280″ for 6″).
-
Pressure Rating: Up to 160 PSI at 73°F (23°C) with 2:1 safety factor; derates above 60°C max operating temp.
-
Standards: ASTM D2466/D2665 (Sch 40 fittings), SASO equivalent to DIN; suitable for DWV and low-pressure water.
Installation
Clean pipe/fitting ends, apply AGM primer then solvent cement per ASTM D2774/D2855, insert pipe fully into sockets (bell depth ~3-6″ based on size), hold 30 seconds for set. Use gasketed options if specified; avoid exceeding 140°F (60°C) or using for hot water/flammable gases. Follow local plumbing codes, support per span tables, and backfill properly for sewerage trenches.
Usage
Ideal for sewerage/drainage branching (e.g., main 8″ to 6″ vent), non-potable water supply, irrigation, or HVAC condensate in commercial/residential projects. Not for potable hot water (use CPVC) or pressures exceeding ratings; excels in chemical resistance and low-friction flow.
