What is Tee Female 32×1/2″ Brass RAKtherm PPRc ?
The RAKtherm PPRc Female Tee ($32\text{ mm} \times 1/2″ \times 32\text{ mm}$ or similar configuration) PN 25 is a premium, high-performance plumbing and HVAC branch fitting.
Like the rest of the RAKtherm line, the PN 25 rating ensures it is highly suitable for demanding hot water, cold water, and heating/cooling water distribution systems.
1. Description & Structural Engineering
This fitting is a hybrid tee designed to handle extreme pressure and thermal cycles without leaking:
-
PPRc Body: Crafted from advanced Polypropylene Random Copolymer (Type 3). The material features high molecular weight and excellent resistance to heat degradation, structural stress, and chemical erosion.

3. Recommended Applications
This specific tee configuration ($32\text{ mm} \times 1/2″$) is commonly used as a point-of-use transition:
-
Manifold & Mixer Connections: Connecting $32\text{ mm}$ main distribution lines to individual $1/2″$ mixer taps, shower valves, or thermostatic controls.
-
HVAC Instrumentation: Perfect for placing inline sensors, pressure gauges, or automatic air release valves (ARVs) into chilled or hot water lines.
-
Boiler & Fan Coil Unit (FCU) Drops: Providing a strong branch drop from the main supply to the $1/2″$ inlet of FCUs, radiators, or heat exchangers.
4. Installation & Welding Guidelines
To preserve the PN 25 pressure integrity, follow the standard socket fusion parameters precisely:
Step 1: Cutting & Insertion Depth
Cut the $32\text{ mm}$ PPRc pipe cleanly at a right angle. Measure and mark an insertion depth of $18\text{ mm}$ on both pipe ends to ensure the correct amount of material is pushed into the tee ends.
Step 2: The Heating Cycle
Ensure the fusion welding tool is stabilized at Push the $32\text{ mm}$ pipe and the $32\text{ mm}$ socket end of the female tee onto the welding adapters simultaneously. Hold and heat for exactly 8 seconds.
Step 3: Fusing the Joint
Smoothly extract both parts from the heater and push the pipe into the tee socket without twisting until it reaches the marked depth line. Hold firmly for 6 seconds to establish the primary bond. Let it cool naturally for at least 4 minutes before subjecting it to any physical movement.
Step 4: Threaded Connection
Apply a generous amount of high-quality PTFE thread seal tape (Teflon tape) or an approved anaerobic pipe sealant to the male $1/2″$ thread. Hand-thread it into the brass insert, and snug it up using an open-ended wrench.
Note: Do not over-tighten, as over-torqueing can put unnecessary stress on the surrounding plastic casing.
5. Key Advantages
-
Zero Galvanic Corrosion: Isolates metallic sub-systems from the main PPRc runs, eliminating localized corrosion.
-
High Thermal Efficiency: The low thermal conductivity of PPRc prevents energy loss along the main run, protecting against sweating on chilled water lines.
-
Exceptional Scale Resistance: The ultra-smooth inner walls of the PPRc runs prevent scale, biofilm, and lime buildup, preserving original flow rates over a 50+ year lifespan.
