What is Reducing Tee 75x63mm Q-Therm PPRc ?
Injection-moulded reducing tee made from random copolymer polypropylene (PPR-C, Type-3) for branching a 63 mm line off a 75 mm main. Designed for socket (fusion) welding into PPR piping systems carrying potable (food-grade) hot and cold water.
Key Specifications
-
Brand / Series: Q-Therm PPR-C
-
Fitting Type: Reducing Tee (T-piece)
-
Size: 75 mm × 63 mm (main run × branch), all ends socket-fusion type
-
Pressure Class: PN 25 (max 25 bar at 20 °C; temperature derating applies)
-
Material: Polypropylene Random Copolymer, Type-3 (PPR-C) – food-grade, tasteless & odorless
-
Color: Typically green (brand standard)
-
Joining Method: Socket thermal fusion at 260 ± 10 °C
-
Compliance (typical for Q-Therm PPR systems): ISO 15874 / DIN 8077-8078 for dimensions & pressure rating; potable-water safe (food-grade material)
-
Country of Origin: United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Performance & Limits
-
Service media: Potable water, hot & cold; HVAC water; many chemicals compatible with PP (non-oxidizing).
-
Service temperature: Continuous up to 70 °C (typical); short-term peaks up to 95 °C (observe pressure derating).
-
Pressure derating (rule-of-thumb for PN 25 PPR):
-
20 °C → up to 25 bar
-
40 °C → ~20 bar
-
60 °C → ~12–16 bar
-
70 °C → ~10–12 bar
(Always verify the system design with local code and the project’s temperature/pressure profile.)
-
Typical Dimensions (Reference)
-
Sockets: sized to mate with 75 mm and 63 mm PPR pipe (SDR for PN 25 typically ~SDR 6).
-
Insertion depth (guideline): ~25–32 mm for 75 mm; ~22–28 mm for 63 mm (mark pipe before welding).
(Exact dimensions can vary slightly by batch; use the manufacturer’s table on the supplied box/datasheet.)
Installation (Socket Fusion)
-
Cut & prepare: Square-cut pipe, deburr, clean—keep dry and dust-free.
-
Heat: Use calibrated fusion tools at 260 ± 10 °C with clean 75 mm/63 mm heater bushes.
-
Typical heating times (guideline): ~40–50 s for 75 mm; ~30–40 s for 63 mm.
-
-
Join: Without twisting, push to full insertion depth (use alignment marks).
-
Hold: Maintain steady pressure for a few seconds; don’t stress the joint during initial set.
-
Cool: Allow natural cooling (no water or forced air). Handling strength after a few minutes; full strength after complete cooling.
-
Supports: Use adequate pipe clamps/hangers; allow for thermal expansion (install expansion loops or compensation).
-
Testing: Hydrotest per code after curing.
Advantages
-
Hygienic / Food-grade: Non-leaching, corrosion-free, scale-resistant; safe for drinking water.
-
Durable: High pressure class (PN 25) with excellent fatigue and chemical resistance.
-
Leak-proof joints: Homogeneous fusion welds eliminate O-rings or thread leaks.
-
Thermal & acoustic comfort: Low heat loss and low noise vs. metal piping.
-
Low maintenance: No rusting or pitting; long service life when properly installed.
Applications (Usage)
-
Potable water distribution (domestic, commercial, institutional).
-
Hot-water risers and return loops (with derated pressure).
-
Chilled and heating water for HVAC.
-
Industrial/process water where PP chemical resistance is suitable.
-
Compressed air (oil-free, with derating and manufacturer approval).
