What is Reducer Socket 63x40mm RAKtherm PPRc ?
The Reducer Socket 63x40mm RAKtherm PPRc PN 25 is a polypropylene random copolymer (PPRc) fitting used to connect a 63 mm PPR pipe to a 40 mm PPR pipe in a straight pipeline while reducing the pipe diameter. It is manufactured from high-quality PPR-C material and joined by heat fusion (socket welding), creating a permanent, leak-proof connection. RAKtherm fittings are produced in the UAE and are widely used in hot and cold water plumbing and HVAC piping systems.

Features
- Reduces pipe size from 63 mm to 40 mm in a straight run.
- PN 25 pressure class suitable for high-pressure water systems.
- Corrosion-resistant and rust-free.
- Hygienic and food-grade material suitable for potable water.
- Smooth internal surface minimizes pressure loss and scaling.
- Long service life, typically exceeding 50 years under proper operating conditions.
- Excellent resistance to chemicals and aggressive water conditions.
Applications
Hot Water Systems
Used in residential, commercial, and industrial hot water distribution networks.
Cold Water Supply
Suitable for drinking water and domestic water supply systems.
HVAC Systems
Used in:
- Chilled water networks
- Cooling systems
- Air-conditioning water circulation lines
- Mechanical services piping
Commercial Buildings
- Hotels
- Hospitals
- Shopping malls
- High-rise buildings
Industrial Installations
- Process water systems
- Food and beverage facilities
- Chemical-resistant piping applications
Installation Procedure
- Cut both 63 mm and 40 mm PPR pipes squarely.
- Remove burrs and clean pipe ends.
- Heat the pipe ends and reducer socket using a calibrated PPR fusion machine.
- Insert the 63 mm pipe into the larger side and the 40 mm pipe into the smaller side.
- Hold in position for the recommended cooling time.
- Allow complete cooling before pressure testing.
- Perform hydrostatic testing after installation.
Advantages in HVAC and Water Supply Systems
- Leak-free fusion joints.
- Lower maintenance compared to metal piping.
- Excellent thermal insulation properties.
- Reduced friction losses due to smooth bore.
- Lightweight and easy handling.
- Suitable for both hot and chilled water applications.
Typical Usage Example
A 63 mm main riser line supplying water to a building can be reduced to a 40 mm branch line using the Reducer Socket 63x40mm. This allows controlled flow distribution to smaller zones, floors, HVAC branches, or equipment connections while maintaining system integrity and pressure performance.
