Reducer Socket 32x25mm Q-Therm PPRc ?
A PPR-c (polypropylene random copolymer) socket-type reducing fitting with a 32 mm socket on one side and a 25 mm socket on the other. It is made for hot & cold water networks and supplied as PN-25 class (25 bar rating at reference temp). It is joined to PPR pipe by socket fusion.
Key specifications (typical / expect on Q-Therm parts)
-
Material: PPR-c / PP-R (food-grade, UV-sensitive — usually green or white).
Sizes: 32 mm → 25 mm (socket × socket). -
Pressure rating: PN-25 (25 bar at ~20 °C). Pressure capacity reduces with higher temperature — check manufacturer derating chart for design.
-
Temperature: Typical continuous service up to ~60–70 °C and short-term peaks up to ~95 °C (confirm exact Q-Therm limits on the datasheet).
Standards: PPR fittings commonly manufactured to standards such as ISO 15874 / DIN / ASTM / national potable-water approvals — check the Q-Therm datasheet or label for exact certification (NSF/WRAS/etc.).
Description / how it joins Reducer Socket 32x25mm Q-Therm PPRc
-
Both ends are socket style: each end is pushed onto the matching PPR pipe and fused using a socket-fusion heater (hot-plate style) to produce a homogeneous, leak-proof joint. Follow Q-Therm fusion time/temperature charts for 25 mm and 32 mm pipes.
Typical uses
-
Transition/reduction in potable water distribution (hot & cold) where a 32 mm run must reduce to 25 mm.
Branching to smaller risers, appliances or fixtures (after proper design). -
Heating/hydronic circuits subject to temperature/pressure limits of PN-25 fittings.
Benefits
-
Corrosion-free, long service life, smooth bore for low hydraulic losses.
-
Lightweight and easy to install by fusion welding (no mechanical joints on the body).
Installation / best practices
-
Clean and square-cut pipes and fitting sockets before fusion.
-
Use the correct heater head sizes and follow Q-Therm’s heat/insert/cool times for 25 mm & 32 mm (manufacturer chart). Allow the joint to cool undisturbed to achieve full strength.
-
Support & spacing: provide supports and allow for thermal expansion (PPR expands significantly with temperature). Provide clips or expansion loops where runs are long.
-
Avoid UV exposure: protect from prolonged sunlight or use covered/UV-stabilized products.
