The Reducer Coupling Socket (110x63mm) by RAKtherm is a heavy-duty industrial fitting designed for significant transitions in high-pressure fluid systems. Engineered as a PN 25 rated component, it excels in the most demanding areas of HVAC or potable water networks, including main plant room headers and vertical risers.

Description & Material Composition

This reducer is a “Socket” type fitting, meaning both the 110mm and 63mm ends are designed to receive pipes internally via heat fusion.

• Material: Random Copolymer Polypropylene (PPR-C Type 3) with high molecular weight.

• Design: Features a smooth internal taper to minimize pressure drop and turbulence during the transition from a 110mm main line to a 63mm branch or sub-main.

Installation Guidelines

Given the large 110mm diameter, professional-grade fusion equipment is mandatory. Avoid using manual “hand-push” fusion for sizes larger than 63mm because it requires too much force.

• Welding Temperature: Constant at 260°C.

• For the 110mm side, use a bench-type fusion machine or a centering device to ensure the pipe enters the socket perfectly straight.

• Heating Times:

  • 110mm side: ~50 seconds heating / 15 seconds welding / 10 minutes cooling.

  • 63mm side: ~24 seconds heating / 8 seconds welding / 6 minutes cooling.

• Depth Entry: Ensure the 110mm pipe is marked at the correct insertion depth (approx. 32-35mm) to prevent over-insertion, which can “choke” the flow at the reduction point.
