Description
Female Socket 40×1″
Brass Female Adaptor (threaded) PPRc Food grade Imported Fittings, Female Socket 40×1″ PN 25 imported from UAE for hot and cold water contact 0322-3540656
What it is Female Socket 40×1″ Q-Therm PPRc ?
A transition fitting that connects a 40 mm PPR-c pipe (socket fusion end) to a 1″ female threaded end (typically BSP). It allows joining of a PPR piping system to metallic or threaded components such as valves, taps, or appliances.
Specifications Female Socket 40×1″ Q-Therm PPRc
-
Brand / Series: Q-Therm PPR-c (imported from UAE)
-
Type: Female Socket (fusion × internal thread)
-
Dimensions:
-
Socket side: 40 mm PPR-c
-
Thread side: 1″ BSP female (brass insert for strength & sealing)
-
-
Material:
-
Body: Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPR-c), food-grade
-
Thread insert: Brass (nickel-plated in many cases) for durability and pressure sealing
-
-
Pressure Rating: PN 25 = 25 bar at 20 °C (derates with temperature rise)
-
Temperature Range:
-
Continuous service: ~60–70 °C
-
Short peaks: up to ~95 °C (verify Q-Therm datasheet)
-
-
Standards (typical for Q-Therm): ISO 15874 / DIN standards for PPR systems, potable water approved
Description & Construction
-
Socket Side (40 mm): Heat-fusion welded to a 40 mm PPR pipe using a fusion welding machine → produces a permanent, leak-free plastic joint.
-
Female Thread Side (1″): Precision brass thread insert molded into the body. Accepts 1″ male threaded parts. Requires PTFE tape or thread sealant during installation.
Usage
-
Hot & Cold Potable Water Networks (domestic and commercial)
-
Heating Systems – hydronic loops, radiator circuits
-
Connection Points:
-
Water meters
-
Mixing valves
-
Pumps
-
Taps, faucets, appliances (with male thread)
-
Benefits
-
Durable & Corrosion-Free compared with all-metal fittings
-
Hygienic & Food-Grade – suitable for drinking water
-
Reliable Jointing: Socket fusion is as strong as the pipe itself
-
Smooth Bore: Low pressure drop & reduced scaling
-
Long Service Life: 50+ years under proper operating conditions
Installation / Best Practices
-
Fusion Welding:
-
Heat both the 40 mm socket and pipe with the fusion tool (follow Q-Therm’s heating/cooling chart).
-
Insert pipe fully, hold until cooled.
-
-
Thread Connection (1″ Female):
-
Wrap male thread with PTFE tape or apply thread sealant.
-
Tighten by hand, then a wrench (do not overtighten to avoid cracking the PPR body).
-
-
System Design Considerations:
-
Allow for thermal expansion in PPR lines (use expansion loops or guides).
-
Protect from direct UV exposure (PPR is not UV-stable).
-
Check pressure-temperature derating curve when used with hot water.
