The Euro Gulf uPVC Pipe (2″ Schedule 40) is a high-performance un plasticized polyvinyl chloride pipe manufactured to ASTM D1785 standards. While it is an industry standard for HVAC chilled water and cold water supply, there are critical limitations regarding its use in “hot water” systems.

2. The “Hot & Cold” Water Reality Check

It is crucial to distinguish between uPVC and CPVC for temperature-sensitive applications:

Hot Water Warning: uPVC is NOT rated for hot water.

4. Installation Guidelines

Jointing Procedure (Solvent Welding)

1.Cutting & Deburring: Clean edges.

Cut the pipe square. Use a deburring tool or file to remove all burrs from the inside and outside edge. A 15° bevel on the outside helps the pipe slide into the socket without wiping away the cement.

2.Dry Fit: Check tolerance.

Insert the pipe into the fitting. It should go in about 1/3 to 2/3 of the way easily. If it bottoms out too loosely, the joint may fail under pressure.

3.Priming & Cementing: Chemical bond.

Apply a layer of uPVC Primer to soften the surfaces. While wet, apply a thin, even coat of heavy-duty solvent cement to the fitting socket and a thicker coat to the pipe end.

4.Assembly & Set: Quarter turn.

Quickly insert the pipe into the fitting until it hits the bottom. Give it a 1/4 turn to distribute the cement evenly. Hold firmly for 30 seconds.

5.Curing:24-hour rule.

Wipe off excess cement. Allow the joints to cure for at least 24 hours before performing a high-pressure leak test.
