upvc pipe 2″ SDR26
upvc pipe 2″ SDR26 Drain, Sewer, Ventilation, AGM Jeddah Saudia. ASTM uPvc pipes sch-40 : BSS-3505 class E. for Pressure water supply contact 0322-3540656
What is AGM upvc pipe 2″ SDR26 ?
AGM (Arabian Gulf Manufacturers Company Ltd.) is a prominent Saudi Arabian manufacturer specializing in high-quality piping systems. The 2″ SDR 26 UPVC pipe serves as a versatile solution for both pressure and non-pressure applications, with widespread use in HVAC, sewerage, and water distribution.
1. General Description
-
Material: Un plasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (UPVC), which is rigid and resistant to chemical corrosion.
-
SDR Rating: SDR 26 (Standard Dimension Ratio). This means the ratio of the pipe’s outer diameter to its wall thickness is 26.
-
Pressure Rating: Typically rated for 160 PSI (approx. 11 Bar) at 23°C, making it a “medium pressure” pipe.
-
Origin: Imported from Saudi Arabia, manufactured to withstand high ambient temperatures and harsh environmental conditions.
2. Technical Specifications
The pipe is generally manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2241 (for pressure pipes) or ASTM D3034 (for gravity sewer).
| Property | Value (Typical for 2″ SDR 26) |
| Nominal Size | 2 inch (approx. 50 mm – 60 mm OD) |
| Outside Diameter (OD) | 2.375 inches (approx. 60.3 mm) |
| Wall Thickness | Approx. 0.091 inches (2.31 mm) |
| Standard Length | 5.8 meters or 6 meters |
| Color | Usually White (Water Supply) or Grey (Drainage/HVAC) |
| Joint Type | Solvent Cement Joint (S/J) or Rubber Ring Joint (R/J) |
3. Usage & Applications
Due to its corrosion resistance and smooth internal bore, it is used in several critical systems:
-
HVAC Systems: Used for condensate drain lines. Because HVAC condensate is often slightly acidic, the chemical resistance of UPVC is superior to metal.
-
Sewerage & Drainage: Ideal for gravity-fed sanitary sewers and wastewater management in residential and commercial buildings.
-
Water Supply: Used for potable (drinking) water distribution and irrigation systems where medium pressure is required.
-
Industrial: Transporting non-corrosive chemicals or used as electrical conduit/cable ducting.
4. Installation Guidelines
Proper installation is crucial to ensure the longevity of the system, especially in high-temperature regions like the Middle East.
-
Cutting: Cut the pipe square using a fine-tooth saw or pipe cutter.
-
Deburring: Remove all burrs from the inside and outside edges. A chamfer (bevel) should be added to the outside edge to prevent the “wiping” of solvent cement or damage to rubber gaskets.
-
Cleaning: Use a clean, dry rag to remove dust and moisture. Apply a chemical primer to soften the surfaces if using solvent cement.
-
Joining:
-
Solvent Weld: Apply an even layer of AGM-approved solvent cement to the pipe end and the socket. Push together with a 1/4 turn and hold for 30 seconds.
-
Rubber Joint: Lubricate the spigot end (do not lubricate the gasket itself) and push until the insertion mark is reached.
-
-
Trenching: For underground use, the trench should be smooth and free of rocks.6 Minimum burial depth is typically 24 inches to protect from surface loads.
5. Benefits of AGM Saudi UPVC
-
Durability: Resistant to “scaling” and rust, ensuring a constant flow rate over decades.
-
Thermal Stability: Formulated with additives to resist the intense heat of Saudi Arabia, preventing UV degradation during storage and installation.
-
Safety: UPVC is self-extinguishing and does not support combustion, which is a key safety feature for indoor HVAC installations.
