4. Installation Instructions

The AGM 1″ End Cap uses a Solvent Weld connection, which creates a “cold weld” between the pipe and the fitting.

1. Preparation: Cut the 1″ UPVC pipe squarely.¹⁰ Remove all burrs from the inside and outside edges using a deburring tool or sandpaper.

2. Cleaning: Clean the outside of the pipe and the inside of the end cap using a UPVC Primer/Cleaner to remove grease and soften the plastic.

3. Application: Apply a thin, even layer of UPVC Solvent Cement to the inside of the cap and a thicker layer to the outside of the pipe.

4. Assembly: Quickly push the cap onto the pipe until it bottoms out. Give it a quarter-turn while pushing to ensure the cement is distributed evenly.

5. Setting: Hold the cap in place for 30 seconds to prevent “push-out.

6. Curing: Allow at least 15–30 minutes before handling and 24 hours before full pressure testing.
