What is AGM upvc Clean Out 6″
Description
The AGM uPVC Clean Out 6″ Sch 40 (Red) is a heavy-duty, solvent-weld clean-out fitting manufactured by Arabian Gulf Manufacturers Ltd. (AGM), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is specifically designed to provide easy access for inspection, cleaning, and snaking of sewerage and drainage lines without cutting the pipe. The fitting consists of a 6-inch Sch 40 socket on one side and a raised-head threaded plug (with a square or hexagonal nut) on the other side. The body is injection-molded from high-grade red uPVC, making it clearly identifiable as a pressure-rated (Sch 40) component, even though it is most commonly used in gravity sewer and drainage systems.
This clean-out is widely imported from Saudi Arabia and is very popular in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia for municipal, commercial, and residential sewerage projects because of its robustness, corrosion resistance, and long service life underground.

Installation
- Location Install clean-outs at every change of direction greater than 45°, at the base of stacks, every 15–30 m (50–100 ft) of horizontal run, and at the point where the building drain leaves the structure (per IPC/UPC and local sewer codes).
- Assembly Steps
- Cut the 6″ uPVC pipe square and deburr.
- Apply purple primer to pipe end and inside the clean-out socket.
- Apply heavy-body or medium-body Sch 40 PVC cement (ASTM D2564).
- Insert pipe fully into socket with a ¼-turn motion and hold 30 seconds.
- Extend the clean-out vertically to finished grade or floor level using additional pipe and fittings.
- Finish with a flush or raised brass/ABS clean-out cover or a threaded AGM counter-sunk plug for underground use.
- Ensure the threaded plug is hand-tight plus ½ turn with an O-ring or PTFE tape for water-tight seal.
- Important Notes
- Always install so the threaded plug faces upward or is easily accessible.
- In traffic areas, protect with a heavy-duty cast-iron or composite clean-out cover rated for the load.
- For buried installations, place clean-out at least 300–450 mm below finish grade and mark location permanently.
Usage & Applications
| Application | Suitable? | Remarks |
|---|---|---|

| Underground drainage | Yes | 100 % corrosion-proof; 50+ year design life in soil |
| Storm water drainage | Yes | Excellent for roof drains and area drains |
| Potable water lines | Yes | NSF-61 certified – can be used in cold water supply (rare at grade only) |
| Pressurized sewer force mains | Limited | Possible up to 100 PSI, but threaded plug is the weak point |
| Hot water / CPVC systems | No | Max 60 °C |
