Female Socket 40×1″
Brass Female Adaptor (threaded) pn 25 for HVAC and hot and cold water supply PPRc Food grade , Fittings, Female Socket 40×1″ distributor contact 0321-2248975
What is Female Socket 40×1″ EG PPRc ?
A Female Socket 40×1″ EG PPRc PN 25 is a high-performance transition fitting used to connect a 40mm PPRc pipe to a 1-inch male threaded metal pipe or fixture.
The “EG” typically stands for Embedded Galva or Electro-Galvanized, referring to the high-quality brass or galvanized metal insert that provides the internal threading. This makes it a “hybrid” fitting, combining the chemical resistance of plastic with the mechanical strength of metal.

2. Description and Key Features
-
Dual-End Design: One end is a smooth plastic socket meant for heat fusion with 40mm PPRc pipes. The other end features 1-inch internal (female) threads to receive valves, faucets, or metal pipe transitions.
-
PN 25 Strength: Unlike the standard PN 20 fittings used in basic plumbing, the PN 25 rating indicates a thicker wall and higher density, making it suitable for high-pressure HVAC pumps and multi-story building risers.
-
Corrosion Resistance: The PPRc body is immune to electrolytic corrosion and scaling, ensuring the water remains clean and the flow rate remains constant over time.
-
Thermal Insulation: PPRc has low thermal conductivity, which helps maintain water temperature in hot water lines and prevents condensation in chilled water (HVAC) systems.
3. Usage & Applications
This specific size (40mm x 1″) is widely used in:
-
HVAC Systems: Connecting main chilled water lines to smaller distribution manifolds or fan coil units (FCUs).
-
Hot & Cold Water Supply: Main vertical risers in residential and commercial buildings.
-
Industrial Piping: Transporting compressed air or chemically aggressive fluids that are compatible with PPRc.
-
Solar Water Heating: Connecting solar collector outlets to the insulated storage tanks.
4. Installation Guide
To ensure a leak-proof connection, follow the Heat Fusion process:
-
Preparation: Clean the 40mm PPRc pipe and the plastic socket of the fitting. Ensure they are free of dust and moisture.
-
Heating: Use a PPRc welding machine with 40mm dies set to 5$260^{\circ}C$.
-
Insert the pipe into the heating sleeve and the fitting onto the heating mandrel.
-
Heating Time: Hold for approximately 12 seconds (standard for 40mm).
-
-
Joining: Remove them simultaneously and push the pipe into the fitting socket without twisting. Hold firmly for about 20-30 seconds.
-
Cooling: Allow the joint to cool completely (approx. 6 minutes) before applying any mechanical stress or pressure.
-
Threading: When connecting the 1-inch male metal thread into the female socket, use Teflon tape (PTFE) or thread sealant. Do not overtighten, as the metal insert can crack the plastic housing if excessive force is used.
