What is Reducer Socket 75x50mm RAKtherm PPRc ?
The RAKtherm Reducer Socket 75×50mm PN 25 is a PPR-C (Polypropylene Random Copolymer) fitting designed to connect two different pipe sizes in a hot and cold water distribution system. It reduces the pipe diameter from 75 mm to 50 mm while maintaining a strong, leak-proof, and pressure-resistant connection through heat fusion welding. The 75×50 mm size is part of the RAKtherm reducer socket range.
Description Reducer Socket 75x50mm RAKtherm PPRc
A reducer socket is used when a larger pipeline must transition to a smaller pipeline. In this case:
- Inlet side: 75 mm PPR pipe
- Outlet side: 50 mm PPR pipe
- Material: Food-grade PPR-C
- Jointing method: Socket fusion (heat welding)
- Application: Hot water, cold water, HVAC, and industrial piping systems.

Installation Procedure
1. Pipe Preparation
- Cut both 75 mm and 50 mm pipes squarely.
- Remove burrs and clean pipe ends.
2. Heating
- Heat the fitting and pipe simultaneously using a calibrated PPR fusion welding machine.
- Typical welding temperature: 260–280°C.
3. Fusion
- Insert the heated pipes into the reducer socket without twisting.
- Hold firmly until the joint cools.
4. Cooling
- Allow adequate cooling time before handling or pressurizing the system.
5. Testing
- Perform hydrostatic pressure testing at approximately 1.5 times the operating pressure before commissioning.
