What is End Cap 40mm RAKtherm PPRc ?
RAKtherm is a UAE-based PPRc piping brand from Ras Al Khaimah. The 40mm End Cap is used to permanently or temporarily close the end of a 40mm PPRc pipe in hot & cold water and HVAC systems.

3. Applications & Usage
Where it’s used:
- Pipe termination: Close end of main or branch lines during installation or for future extension points
- Pressure testing: Temporarily cap lines to hydrotest the system before commissioning
- System isolation: Permanently seal unused outlets in plumbing manifolds
- HVAC systems: End of chilled water or heating water loops in commercial/industrial settings
- Hot & cold water: Residential towers, apartments, hotels, hospitals, schools
- Other: Swimming pool lines, irrigation, compressed air
Why PN-25 for 40mm:
40mm is a common size for risers and distribution in mid-size buildings. PN-25 gives higher safety margin for pumped hot water/HVAC systems in high-rises vs PN-20.
4. Installation Method
RAKtherm PPRc uses heat fusion / socket fusion – same as all PPRc fittings. No threads or glue.
Tools Required:
- PPR pipe cutter for 40mm
- Fusion welding machine with 40mm die set
- Pipe chamfering tool / scraper
- Marker, measuring tape, clean cloth
Step-by-Step for 40mm End Cap:
- Cut: Cut 40mm pipe square and clean. Remove burrs.
- Mark: Mark socket depth on pipe. For 40mm PN-25, insertion depth is ∼18-20mm.
- Clean: Wipe pipe end & cap socket with dry cloth. Surface must be dry/oil-free.
- Heat: Set welding machine to 260°C. Simultaneously push pipe into the heating sleeve and cap onto the heating spigot.
- Heating Time: For 40mm, heat ∼12-15 seconds. Don’t rotate.
- Join: Quickly pull both from heater and push pipe into cap socket up to the mark. Hold steady for 6-8 seconds. No twisting.
- Cool: Let joint cool 2-3 minutes. Don’t apply stress. Full strength after 1 hour.
- Test: Hydrotest at 1.5x working pressure after all joints are cool.
Installation Notes:
- Use only with 40mm RAKtherm PN-25 PPRc pipe for guaranteed pressure rating
- For exposed outdoor lines, use “Stabi” aluminum-layered pipe to limit expansion & UV damage
- Support 40mm pipe every ∼1.0m for hot water, ∼1.5m for cold water
- If used as temporary test cap, you can cut pipe behind it later and fuse a coupling to extend
- Thermal expansion for 40mm PPRc: ∼0.15mm/m/°C. Use expansion loops/offsets on long runs
