What is AGM cpvc Socket 3/4″ ?

 

The AGM CPVC Socket 3/4″ imported from Saudi Arabia (KSA) is made from CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride), designed primarily for hot water applications. It conforms to ASTM standards and is typically manufactured as Schedule 80 (Sch-80) pressure fittings, capable of handling pressures up to 15 Bar (around 220 psi). The material can operate at maximum temperatures up to approximately 93°C (200°F). This socket is a slip x slip end type, meaning both ends are smooth for solvent-welding connections with CPVC pipes.​

Installation

Installation involves solvent welding (gluing) the pipe into the socket. The process includes:

1. Cutting the CPVC pipe to the required length with a suitable cutter.

2. Cleaning and deburring the pipe end.

3. Applying a CPVC primer to the outside of the pipe end and the inside of the socket.

4. Applying CPVC solvent cement to both primed surfaces.

5. Immediately inserting the pipe into the socket with a slight twist (1/8 to 1/2 turn) to spread the cement evenly.

6. Holding the assembly for 10 to 30 seconds to ensure the joint bonds properly and does not push out.

7. Checking for a bead of cement around the pipe and fitting joint for full sealing.​
