What is Reducer Socket 90x75mm RAKtherm PPRc ?
The Reducer Coupling Socket 90×75mm RAKtherm PPRc PN 25 is a polypropylene random copolymer (PPR-C) fitting used to connect and reduce a pipeline from 90 mm diameter to 75 mm diameter while maintaining a strong, leak-proof flow path. It is commonly installed in hot and cold water supply systems, HVAC networks, chilled water lines, commercial plumbing, industrial piping, and potable water distribution systems. RAKtherm fittings are manufactured for high-pressure applications and are imported from the UAE.
Product Description
A reducer coupling socket is designed to join two different pipe sizes using a socket fusion welding method. The larger side accepts a 90 mm PPR pipe, while the smaller side accepts a 75 mm PPR pipe. After heat fusion, the fitting and pipe become a single homogeneous piece, providing excellent strength and leak resistance.
RAKtherm PPR-C systems are widely used because of their corrosion resistance, hygienic properties, long service life, and suitability for drinking water applications.

Construction Features
High Pressure Performance
The PN 25 classification indicates suitability for high-pressure water systems, particularly in commercial and residential plumbing installations.
Corrosion Resistance
Unlike steel pipes, PPR-C does not rust, scale, or corrode, helping maintain water quality and system efficiency.
Food-Grade Material
RAKtherm PPR-C fittings are commonly supplied as food-grade materials suitable for potable water systems.
Smooth Internal Surface
The smooth bore reduces friction loss and improves hydraulic flow performance.
Installation Procedure
1. Pipe Preparation
- Cut both 90 mm and 75 mm PPR pipes squarely.
- Remove burrs and clean the pipe ends.
- Mark insertion depth before welding.
2. Heating
- Use a calibrated PPR fusion welding machine.
- Heat the fitting and pipe ends simultaneously.
- Typical fusion temperature is approximately 260°C.
3. Joining
- Insert the heated pipe ends into the reducer socket without twisting.
- Hold firmly until the joint begins cooling.
4. Cooling
- Allow natural cooling.
- Do not disturb or rotate the joint during cooling.
5. Pressure Testing
- After complete cooling, pressure test the system.
- Test pressure is typically around 1.5 times the operating pressure according to project specifications.
Usage in HVAC Systems
The 90×75 mm reducer coupling socket is frequently used in:
- Chilled water distribution systems
- Air conditioning water circulation lines
- Cooling tower piping
- Mechanical plant rooms
- Commercial HVAC installations
- District cooling networks
The fitting allows engineers to reduce pipe size while maintaining system integrity and flow control.
Usage in Hot and Cold Water Supply
Applications include:
- Residential buildings
- Apartments and housing societies
- Hotels
- Hospitals
