What is Male Socket 32×3/4″ RAKtherm PPRc ?
The RAKtherm PPRc Male Socket (32mm × ¾”) PN25 is a premium, high-performance transition fitting manufactured by RAKtherm (Gulf Plastic and Industries) in the UAE. Designed specifically for demanding piping networks, this fitting connects 32mm PPRc piping to ¾” threaded brass or metallic components (such as valves, pumps, mixers, or manifolds) within hot, cold, and HVAC water supply systems.
Description & Features Male Socket 32×3/4″ RAKtherm PPRc
This fitting features a dual-material construction that combines a premium Random Copolymer Polypropylene (PPRc Type 3) body with an integrated, heavy-duty DZR (Dezincification Resistant) brass male-threaded insert.
-
Engineered for High Pressure: Holding a PN25 (Pressure Nominal 25 bar) rating, it is built to handle extreme pressure spikes and continuous high-stress environments far exceeding standard PN16 or PN20 residential requirements.
-
Leak-Proof Mechanical Transition: The internal brass insert is precision-machined with deep anchoring grooves. When the PPRc is overmolded during manufacturing, it creates an absolute mechanical bond that resists torque during installation and prevents thermal-cycling leaks over time.
-
Superior Thermal Stability: Ideal for HVAC chilled water lines, radiator heating loops, and high-temperature domestic hot water distribution.

Usage & Applications
Because of its heavy-duty PN25 rating, this transition male socket is highly utilized in demanding engineering layouts:
-
HVAC Systems: Chilled water piping for Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Air Handling Units (AHUs), and connection to central chiller manifolds.
-
Central Heating Networks: Connecting high-temperature boiler supply lines, radiant underfloor heating manifolds, and radiator panel valves.
-
High-Pressure Hot & Cold Water Supply: Main risers and pressure-pump discharge lines in commercial buildings, high-rises, and industrial setups where water hammer or high static head is common.
-
Equipment Connection: Direct bridging from the PPRc infrastructure to pumps, water heaters, storage tanks, and strainers using the ¾” male thread.
Installation Guidelines
To guarantee a system lifetime of up to 50 years, the fusion and threading processes must strictly adhere to technical standards:
1. Polyfusion Welding (32mm PPRc End)
-
Preparation: Clean the 32mm matrix/welding adapters on your PPRc welding machine. Heat the machine to the mandatory working temperature of $260^\circ\text{C}$ ($500^\circ\text{F}$).
-
Cutting & Depth: Cut the 32mm pipe square using sharp pipe cutters. Mark a insertion depth of approximately $18\text{ mm}$ on the pipe.
-
Heating Times (For 32mm):
-
Heating Period: Push the pipe and the socket simultaneously into the heating tools. Hold for 8 seconds.
-
Assembly Period: Remove them from the tools and immediately push the pipe into the socket without twisting. You have 6 seconds to align them.
-
Cooling Period: Hold the joint completely still for at least 4 minutes to let the fusion set perfectly.
-
2. Threaded Connection (¾” Male End)
-
Thread Sealing: Use high-grade PTFE (Teflon) tape or an approved pipe thread sealant paste. Wrap the Teflon tape clockwise around the male thread tightly.
-
Torque Control: Tighten the joint into the corresponding ¾” female fitting using an open-ended wrench or pipe wrench on the molded hexagonal brass flat of the socket.
-
Crucial Rule: Avoid over-tightening. Excessive torque can stress or crack the receiving female metal component or damage the molded anchoring inside the PPRc body. Never grip the plastic body of the fitting with a pipe wrench.
