What is Reducer Socket 110x75mm EG PPRc ?
The Reducer Socket 110x75mm EG PPRc PN25 is a specialized high-pressure plumbing fitting used to connect two pipes of different diameters in a straight line.1 Manufactured by Ever Green (EG), a well-known brand in the PPRc industry, this fitting is designed for heavy-duty applications in both HVAC and large-scale water distribution systems.
1. Description & Detailed Information
A reducer socket (also known as a reduction coupling) is a concentric fitting used to transition from a larger pipe size to a smaller one.
-
Size: It connects a 110mm (approx. 4-inch) pipe to a 75mm (approx. 2.5 to 3-inch) pipe.
-
Material: Made from Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPRc), which is chemically inert and does not corrode or scale.
-
PN25 Rating: This is the highest standard pressure class for PPRc, signifying it can handle a nominal pressure of 25 bar (approx. 362 PSI) at 20°C.
2. Technical Specifications

3. Usage & Applications
Due to its large size (110mm) and high pressure rating (PN25), this fitting is typically found in:
-
HVAC Systems: Main riser lines for chilled water or hot water circulation in commercial buildings.
-
Main Water Lines: Primary water distribution headers for high-rise buildings, hospitals, and industrial plants.
-
Industrial Fluid Transport: Moving chemicals or compressed air where high pressure and chemical resistance are required.
-
Steam Condensate: Handling return lines in industrial boiler systems.
4. Installation (Socket Fusion Method)
Because 110mm and 75mm are large diameters, the installation requires professional-grade equipment and precision.
Key Installation Steps:
-
Preparation: Use a heavy-duty pipe cutter to ensure a perfectly square cut.5 Clean the pipe ends and the inside of the reducer socket with alcohol to remove grease.
-
Depth Marking: Mark the insertion depth clearly.
-
For 110mm, depth is approx. 38–42mm.
-
For 75mm, depth is approx. 30–33mm.
-
-
Heating: Use a large-scale fusion welding machine with 110mm and 75mm heating bushes.
-
Heating Time: 110mm pipe requires approx. 50 seconds; 75mm requires approx. 30 seconds.
-
-
Fusion: Push the pipe and fitting onto the heater simultaneously. Once heated, remove them and push them together steadily without twisting.
-
Cooling: Hold the joint for at least 10-15 seconds. Due to the large size, let the joint cool naturally for at least 10 minutes before moving the pipe.
5. Why Choose PN25 for 110mm?
-
Wall Thickness: PN25 fittings have significantly thicker walls than PN16 or PN20, providing a higher safety margin against pressure surges (water hammer).
-
Thermal Expansion: The thicker material helps better manage the expansion and contraction typical in HVAC hot/cold cycles.
-
Zero Leakage: The heat fusion process creates a “monolithic” joint, meaning the pipe and fitting become a single piece of plastic.
