What is Reducer Socket 40x32mm DADEX PPRc ?
A Reducer Socket (sometimes called a reducing coupling in PPR systems) is a pipe fitting that connects two pipes of different diameters — in this case from 40 mm down to 32 mm — in a PPRc piping network.
-
DADEX Polydex PPRc refers to the brand/system and indicates it’s made from Polypropylene Random Copolymer — a high-quality plastic ideal for water and heating systems.
-
PN 25 means the fitting is rated for high-pressure applications — up to approximately 25 bar at around 20 °C (typical for PN 25 PPR fittings).
A reducer socket is different from a “tee” — it does not create a branch, but simply reduces pipe size inline.
📊 General Specifications Reducer Socket 40x32mm DADEX PPRc

Notes on PN 25:
PN ratings for PPR systems indicate pressure class at 20 °C. PN 25 fittings are usually paired with PN 25 pipes for hot and cold potable water, hydronic heating, and other HVAC applications.
📌 Material & Features
PPRc Material (Polypropylene Random Copolymer) has these advantages:
✅ Corrosion-free — doesn’t rust or react with water.
✅ High corrosion and chemical resistance — ideal for potable and aggressive fluids.
✅ Smooth internal surface — reduces friction and scaling.
✅ Excellent thermal performance — suitable for both hot and cold water up to ~95 °C.
✅ Long service life — often over 50 years under proper conditions.
✅ Hygienic and food grade — safe for drinking water supply.
✅ Energy-efficient — low heat loss and good insulation.
DADEX Polydex PPRc fittings are part of a complete piping system designed for hot & cold water and HVAC applications.
🛠️ Installation Guide
Tools Required
-
PPRc socket fusion welding machine with appropriate heating dies
-
Pipe cutter (for clean, square cuts)
-
Deburring tool
-
Marker & tape measure
-
Pipe support clips
Installation Steps
-
Prepare Pipe Ends:
Measure and cut the 40 mm and 32 mm pipe ends squarely. Remove any burrs and debris. -
Clean & Align:
Ensure pipe ends and reducer socket sockets are clean and dry. Misalignment leads to weak joints. -
Heat Socket Fusion:
-
Heat the socket fusion tool to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature (typically ~260 °C for PPR).
-
Insert the 40 mm pipe and 40 mm side of fitting into the respective heating dies simultaneously.
-
After heating for the correct duration, remove both from the heating surface.
-
-
Join Pipe & Fitting:
-
Quickly but carefully push the pipe into the fitting socket straight.
-
Hold without rotation until the joint cools and solidifies.
-
-
Repeat for Smaller Side:
-
Heat and join the 32 mm pipe end to the 32 mm side of the reducer the same way.
-
-
Cooling & Support:
-
Allow the joint to cool fully before pressurizing or stressing the line.
-
Support the pipe to prevent sagging and allow for expansion due to temperature changes.
-
-
Pressure Test:
-
Test the connected system under pressure to ensure there are no leaks.
-
🚰 Usage & Applications
1. Hot & Cold Water Supply
-
Common in potable water systems: connects main 40 mm lines to smaller 32 mm lines in homes, apartments, offices, etc.
-
Safe for drinking water due to food-grade material.
2. HVAC (Heating & Cooling)
-
Used in hydronic heating systems, radiant floor heating, and chilled water loops.
-
Suitable where flow rate changes require a step-down in pipe size.
-
Good resistance to heat and pressure typical of HVAC loops.
3. Commercial & Industrial Plumbing
-
Useful in buildings where water lines reduce in size to feed smaller risers, fixtures, or equipment.
4. Hydronic Circuits
-
Works well with PPRc piping in internal heating water circuits and return lines.
📌 Key Benefits in Service
✔ Smooth fluid transition — minimal turbulence from size change.
✔ Strong, Leak-proof Joints — socket fusion welding creates a monolithic connection.
✔ Non-corroding — long-term resistance to rust and chemicals.
✔ Versatile — applicable in domestic, commercial, industrial, and HVAC piping.
✔ Efficient — reduces energy losses in hot water systems due to insulating properties.
